The X-ray Technician will take quality patient internal images, as directed by the Nurse Practitioner.
The X-ray Tech will communicate frequently with the Nurse Practitioner on results of those images and a patient care plan.
They will collaborate on the findings of the images with the Nurse Practitioner to assess damage, injury, illness, disease or other abnormal processes within the body.
They will forward images to a 3rd party X-Ray Service for confirmation and ensure images are transferred to the patient's file in EHR software.
This position reports to the Office Manager.
Job
Responsibilities:
Perform X-rays on patients as assigned, following the company's technical procedures.
Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images.
Ensure equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
Follow established radiation safety procedures.
Communicate with NP's, Office Manager and team members.
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Ensure images are released to state licensed radiologist for interpretation.
Burn images to CD and deliver as assigned.
Keep accurate documentation of services performed.
Be professional in actions, communication, and personal appearance.
In addition to your usual duties, you will be cross-trained to perform other duties.
This includes, but may not be limited to, greeting patients, check-in / check-out, communicating wait times, obtaining insurance information, etc.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Skills:
Certified X-Ray Technician.
Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and X-ray procedures.
Ability to operate X-ray equipment and computers.
Excellent patient care skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently, yet also as part of a team Drug and alcohol free Must be physically able to place X-ray cassettes underneath patients to complete exams, which requires lifting patients and pulling and pushing cassettes under body part being examined.
Patient's weight varies depending on body part being examined.
