POSITION SUMMARY The Purchasing Agent works with various levels of hospital personnel to explore alternatives and negotiate with vendors for the acquisition of various commodities such as inventory, non-hospital supplies, capital equipment, furnishings, etc.
to insure standardization and value.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Ability to comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
all departmental and functional policy and procedure, maintaining acceptable attendance records, arriving for duty punctually, and following dress code Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to operate specific equipment as detailed in the competency/skills list.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Materials Management operations.
Appy effective organization skills and ability to set priorities.
Demonstrate time management skills and be well organized.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Display excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with hospital and non-hospital personnel.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at various stages of development.
Demonstrate a high degree of independent access to organizational information and must be able to handle such information appropriately.
Data entry skills are required.
Demonstrate substantial knowledge of computer based supply replenishment methods.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Level of Education Minimum:
High School diploma required.
Preferred:
College Degree preferred Level of Experience Minimum:
3 years purchasing experience Preferred:
5 years purchasing experience in a hospital setting Recommended Skills Commodity Market Communication Coordinating Data Entry Furnishing Interpersonal Skills Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
