Job Summary The Purchasing Agent works with various levels of hospital personnel to explore alternatives and negotiate with vendors for the acquisition of various commodities such as inventory, non-hospital supplies, capital equipment, furnishings, etc.
to insure standardization and value.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Establish and maintain hospital supply database so as to insure accurate transmittal of EDI orders.
Coordinate, negotiate, and order supply requests and capital equipment.
Review and monitor contracts and perform value analysis for all hospital supplies.
Provide information to Value Analysis Committee regarding alternative supply options and perform value analysis price comparisons.
Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies in collaboration with Accounts Payable.
Serve as liaison between vendors and hospital.
Effectively use assigned software including materials management information system to order, enter and track supplies and materials.
Consult with manufacturers, vendors, and sales representatives in relation to the procurement of supplies.
Coordinate recall notifications and product defect reports.
Assist with the issuance, analysis, and other functions necessary to obtain bids and/or pricing from vendors and potential vendors for supply items.
Minimum Education Requirements Minimum:

College Degree Minimum Experience Requirements Minimum:
3 years purchasing experience Preferred:
5 years purchasing experience in a hospital setting Recommended Skills Accounts Payable Commodity Market Databases Furnishing Information Systems Procurement Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
